Family days out at Felbrigg

Felbrigg has so much to offer families. From children's trails around the hall to den building in the woods, find out all you need to know to plan a great day out.

Planning your family visit

It is free to visit the estate at Felbrigg (car parking charges apply for non-members) and admission to the hall and gardens is free for under 5s.
Baby changing facilities can be found in the toilets next to the Stable Courtyard, turning right just before you get to the main visitor reception.
Breastfeeding is welcome everywhere at Felbrigg, including in our tea-room where hot water can be provided for making up bottles.
High chairs are available in the tea-room.
Picnic benches and accessible benches are in the meadow area in front of the Stable Courtyard. You’re also welcome to picnic in the grounds.
Buggy-friendly paths are in place around the gardens and parkland. Don’t hesitate to ask a member of the welcome team for tips.

February half-term

The doors of Felbrigg Hall will be thrown open this half-term, ready to transport you and your family to centuries gone. Wander through opulent yet homely spaces, with highlights including colourful stained glass in the Great Hall, gleaming copper pots in The Kitchen and perhaps even a small secret room in The Library ....

The Felbrigg Estate is free to visit (parking charges apply for non-members) and with 520-acres there’s plenty of space for little legs to roam. Go on the family-friendly 2.6-mile circular church and ice house trail through rolling parkland, past a lake and into the woods. Get stuck into den building in a dedicated area located just off the 'Victory V' avenue of trees.

In the Walled Garden, spot colourful crocuses and find metalwork creatures and sculptures by artist Toby Winterbourn around every corner, from tiny hidden dormice to giant mushrooms. Warm up after your adventuring with a hot drink or treat from the Squire’s Pantry tea-room.

Borrow a Tracker Pack

The estate awaits! Ask a member of the welcoem team to borrow a Tracker Pack stuffed full of binoculars and animal track sheets. Let your senses lead the way as you explore the woodland, parkland and around the lake.

Eating with us?

The Squire’s Pantry tea-room in the Stable Courtyard serves kids picnic bags, light meals, fresh bakes, ice creams and drinks. Please check the opening hours before your visit.
